Thank you for submitting a suggestion to our uservoice portal. Before you continue please consider the following:

We try to make our software as full featured as possible for a wide range of users in order to help Shift4Shop merchants succeed in their respective businesses.

However, please understand that while your idea may be perfect for your individual business model, it may not work for all stores and situations. We’ve set up this feature request and suggestion portal for ideas that may be of a benefit to all users globally on Shift4Shop. Hence the voting system that is enabled on the portal.

With that being stated, please also understand that submitting an idea to this portal does not guarantee that the suggestion can or will be implemented globally on the service for all users. As a service, Shift4Shop has many facets where functionality is dictated by peripheral services and influences such as API connections to Shipping Carriers, contractual agreements and integration parameters with various payment gateway providers, database limitations and other factors that can affect the likelihood of a suggestion being implemented.

If a suggestion is declined, we will make every effort in our control to offer counter suggestions or alternatives to try, including 3rd party-partner services (browse through our App Store) or work arounds using the existing software as is.


  1. Ship Settings

    In the shipping settings, you have "US/AL" and "US/ALL" It is pretty confusing when trying to navigate the hundreds of settings one needs to review. Please change it to "US/EVERY" or "US ALL STATES". This cost me several days of wasted trouble shooting.

  2. Minimum or maximum amount for shipping method

    Allow a minimum or maximum order amount for shipping methods. Example, orders over a specified dollar amount does not show 1st class mail option. Or an order under a certain dollar amount does not show UPS Next Day Air. Sometimes I do not want to ship an order by 1st class mail even if the weight is low enough, but the dollar amount is higher. Or ship a $20 order for $90 in UPS Next Day Air shipping.

  3. Show customer action with Address Validator

    Address Validator - Currently, there is no definitive way to know if a customer used an address they entered, a suggested address or if the address passed validation. This would be nice to know for mis-delivered and undeliverable packages for many reasons. Also, don't forget to vote for "UPS / FedEx address verification" if you don't use USPS exclusively.

  4. Update the ebay module

    I get a variety of errors using this module, Thankfully enough it still list my item but it's obviously a key component I use here on Shift4Shop is being ignored.

    I appreciate the fact this website tells me I have units on eBay from my inventory, but when the item is decided by color I have no reference which item and or option is listed I only know the gross count.

  5. It would be VERY good to be able to narrow the checkout questions to location of the shipping or billing region (State/Province or Country)

    It would be VERY good to be able to narrow the checkout questions to location of the shipping or billing region (State/Province or Country) as there are sometimes VERY specific questions that must be answered for certain geographic regions, such as Tax implications, or import requirements.

    For example, because the billing information may be different from the shipping destination, taxes may be reflected based on the shipping destination, and we need to ask that they understand these implications related to taxes or import taxes and requirements.   6. CRM request email should include email address

    I receive CRM requests in my email it would save alot of time if the email address was included so I don't have to open the admin page in order for me to reply to the customer

  7. It would be useful if customers could change/update their credit card on a recurring order.

    Currently customers have to cancel recurring orders and set up a new one if they want to change the credit card used to pay for the orders. This increases the likelihood that they will not continue the recurring order since they would have to cancel the existing one and set up a whole new order. I could see them cancelling and then not setting up a new order. It would be more customer-friendly and increase the revenue stream to enable a customer to just update the card of an existing order

  8. Add Product Sorting Drag and Drop.

    In addition to sorting items by entering a sorting number. If your category page has "Order by" as a default sorting. It should be easier to just drag and drop instead of entering the sorting number.

  10. Manage email addresses from newsletter

    In regards to your newsletter feature, I'd like to manage my email list. How do we know which emails are bouncing back? or are never opened? The report area shows how many emails are opened and which products have been clicked on, etc. However we don't have access to that information. It would be helpful to be able to see which emails are active, which are dead, who clicked, what they clicked on, etc. This data is obviously collected and would be very useful for store owners. There really needs to me a way for us to access this information…

    This idea would be helpful for ALL of your stores. Encrypting the stores email instead of seeing a red unlock with the message "3dcartstores.com did not encrypt this message"

    The ability to design a mobile-friendly site. Most customers use mobile devices now. We need a way to tweak the current designs to fit the mobile format.

    Mobile friendly banners, mobile specific layouts, etc.

  13. Could you consider adding a "edit mobile" feature.

    Could you consider adding an "edit mobile" feature pretty please. I have the store set up for desktop the way I want it but I cant fix the mobile/ipad version. I just spoke to the customer service in the chat and they nicely answered my questions and gave me this link so I could suggest this. Thank you.

  14. Respond to a CRM Question/ Request Directly from Email

    I am not always logged into Shift4Shop, but I do always have my cellphone with me and when I receive a CRM Question/ Request it would be great if we can respond directly from our email without having to log into the Shift4Shop System. This would make the customer experience and interaction with store owners much faster and streamline the communication process with shoppers.

    Currently, the CRM email notifications don't provide the customers' contact information and force store owners to login to the Shift4Shop CRM just to get the information. Time is of the essence when communicating with clients and…

  15. Unlink Options Template from Multiple Products in Bulk

    Currently, it is not possible to unlink an options template from a product without manually deleting each option from the product. When you need to unlink an options template from several hundred products, this would require you to manually go into each of the products and delete all of the options, which would take several hours to do.

    What would be more helpful is if I could bulk update product options, using a different template than what those products currently use. This import would give the user the option to truncate (overwrite) the previous options and only use the option…

  16. All automatic emails look like scam to our customers

    All our emails are sent from the hosting site instead from our site, so all customers, or even their email systems, may think they are scams and send them directly to the junk box. This is not normal practice these days.

    Please take a look at the reference image (link below), it is clear that the settings in your hosting are configured improperly, using 3dcart a sender for all the automatic actions (order updates), making all this emails look as a possible "scams".     The invoice module should allow you to send an invoice to a customer and have that payment be applied directly to their order buy inputting the order number.

  18. Shift4 Payment Transactions - Reference No. Column linked to invoice number

    In the Shift4 Payment Transactions report there is a Reference No column that currently empty. It would be quite useful to have that Reference No column filled in with the Invoice number that transaction is associated with.
